Upgradring 8.0.2 to 8.5

Upgrading to Lotus Notes 8.5 was just alot of work. And it should'nt be.
Playing with my setup I realize that this is all my fault. In an earlier post I told about the use of the "SETMULTIUSER=1" parameter. And it worked even when I installed All Clients, both Designer and Administrator.

But... when I wanted to upgrade I got busted. "You are atempting to upgrade a multi-user install blah blah please install the right package blah blah". Well my bad for doing a multi-user install for Designer and Administrator i Guess. I'd better uninstall 8.0.2 entierly and install the 8.5 Lotus Notes Client Only. Best put the Admin and Designer in a virtual machine.

Trying to uninstall I get the same message "You are atempting to upgrade..blah blahh..."

I ended up manually removing the Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Clients and reinstall 8.5.

The moral of this "Don't be to creative. Just because You can get some unsupported feature to work, does not make it a good idea to do so."
